Metil asetat, MeOAc, asetik asit metil ester veya metil etanoat olarak da bilinir. Metil asetat bazen zayıf polar ve lipofilik olmak üzere bir çözücü olarak kullanılır. Metil asetat, güçlü sulu bazlar veya sulu asitler varlığında stabil değildir.
Metil asetat, tutkallar, boyalar ve oje çıkarıcılarda kullanılmaktadır.
